Threadcutters come in more styles and forms. VAR169 is a reamer/ threadcutter that goes all the way through the bottombracket. French can be changed to Italian (35 to 36mm) not the other way .

I've got a book a few books from the early 80s that discuss the different seat stay end caps from different builders. I'll see if these are identifiable.

looks like the 1983-84 time, would think 1985 latest possible date
it was right at this era that the larger producers of France were beginning their transition to ISO

markings on head...
