If you're buying new tires anyway, and your present wheels are tubeless compatible, it will be cheap and easy to try tubeless. You can always go back to tubes if it doesn't work out for you.

This is my experience. I gave up on tubeless for narrower, higher pressure tires because punctures often just resulted in sealant showers. For wider tires, however, tubeless works as advertised.
