I used the Silca pre wax degreaser on the last two chains I bought, soaked for 10 minutes then into the wax. It seems to have worked well.

I don’t do any treating between waxes, just throw them...

I use a SRAM link for about 5-10 waxes then ditch it. 10 waxes is roughly 20 weeks between my two chains.

It’s really not that bad. 2 chains, both go in every 2 weeks or so after a ride. Wax heats up, by the time I shower and eat breakfast it’s melted and ready to go.
Breaking the links takes about 30...

It’s probably good for 3-3.5 hours in the rain- I did a gravel race a year ago for 4.5 hours in a steady rain and it was completely washed out the last 16 miles or so

Yes- complete rewax, no top off in between. There’s no stripping of old wax, it comes out in the melted wax as the chain heats up.
