Must have been at Cali. That track is DANGEROUS because it is open along the sides. They've recently installed protective netting around the perimeter to keep riders in the arena.

My guess is upgrading a $200 fixie isn't going to be cost effective, especially for a casual track racer. The money could be better spent on food, gas, entry fees and spare parts.

Agreed. I bought a used Synapse 105 18 months ago and have about 8k miles on it. Only needed to change the saddle (personal preference) and stem (personal fit).
