in england we just ride in rain, snow, ice, hurricane force winds and put up with our bike hating society and i do all this on an uncovered, untreated b17 and its fine. mine only took about 100 miles...

if you are using clipless pedals, the cleats maybe set at the wrong angle this would cause the knee problem.

when i say audax i mean a set distance with checkpoints,to be completed in a set time usually minimum average speed 13 kph and maximum 25kph.
