There might be better choices, but Conti 23mm Conti GP4000s work just fine on gravel. Basically, any tire works OK on gravel if you have the bike handling skills. If you don't, wider is better.

I've noticed on group rides just how freakin' loud some free hubs are. Maybe it's a safety feature, helping the riders behind to maintain a gap when the guy in front is off the gas.
