I don't disagree that they are better, but for the cost differential I don't find them to be that much more of a deal. I too only buy the name brands because mine have to last through 3 - 4 kids. ...

I agree with RRZ. You don't get alot more for your money with the name brands. The 2 or 3 times price difference in kids bikes is not the quality difference you see in adult bikes.
