Is It a Mortal Sin to Ditch Drop Bars for Upright Bars?

Hello,
Everything on the bike has been left as I bought it. Haven't even wiped it with a soft rag. Due to shoulder injury and old age, and crankiness, I can't ride much with drop bars anymore.
