Carbon is lighter. It isn’t a contest as far as durability goes. The Mavic rims are superior. It really boils down to weight vs durability. Plus, I don’t have a set of carbon rims in the basement.

I was thinking about building some winter wheels with them. I hate to use Chorus hubs though. They are so nice looking.

I have a set of Mavic CXP-30 rims in excellent shape. Are they worth building a set of wheels with? I was going to have them laced to some older Chorus 32 hole hubs for an extra set of wheels. Thanks
