I forgot to also mention what seems to be a rise in event ride cancellations.

Last year the Portland Century was cancelled due a combination of not enough advance registrations and rising costs....

So from what the OP shared, it seems the cyclist was trespassing on privately owned property (barbed wire fence should be a clue) and got caught and fined for it. Apparently, this is a situation...

I hadn't factored in how much the Coho weighs. So I ended up coming across a BoB Yak trailer with drysack included for $100 on Craigslist. It's in good shape...
