I did get a good deal on the ebike so I figure I give it a shot. I have another bike with an Altus rear derailleur and there's no such lateral movements on that one so I might just as well upgrade...

Also, I'm a little confused on my left shifter. It's a lever type shifter with a lever on top that shifts it from 3-2-1 and a bottom lever that shifts from 1-2-3....
