11 years, evidently. So - we sold our twin Univega mountain bikes back in 2010 as part of a big downsizing. We've been traveling mostly since then and are officially retired, currently tooling around...

OK, finally found the serial numbers - man's bike...

OK, finally found the serial numbers - man's bike is DS00924?59 and the woman's is DS00924741

Based on all the Shimano part numbers the mfg. date is '91-'92 - can't get any closer without knowing...

The guys at the bike shop discovered them. They are lightly stamped into the tube running from the bottom bracket up to the seat. The men's is DS00924?59 and the woman's is DS00924741.

Actually, there is NO serial number on the bottom bracket. I haven't found one anywhere on the frame yet. The bottom bracket is covered by a plastic piece with channels for cabling.
