I'm trying to remove a freewheel. I turn the freewheel removal tool counter clockwise, and all I get is a sudden jerky, clang movement, but doesn't unscrew.

Well, this was on the chainwheel side, I replaced it with a spare, but I didn't know if the spare was left or right.

I might have mixed up the pedals too :( I didn't know everything was different...
