I dont think heat/cooling would be much of an issue between the two colors, but in the world of motorcycles white helmets are said to be more visible to drivers.

You will love the tarmac....I have one with 105, but at similar price points, drivetrains are mainly preference. I worked at a shop selling specialized and they make a good product. Good luck with it

I am a mech...I would lube the cable stop areas (brake and shift) they sometimes get corroded over time. About the BB, i typically will wrap the BB threads with teflon plumbers tape to take up slack....

Thanks, got the bike off a buddy and came with carbon bars and stem. Want to get something with less drop and dont feel like spending the money on carbon ones. I like the stem so it stays, no point...

I would go small, i am 5'8" and 32"inseem...my post is a little high but i get a nice saddle to bar drop which i prefer and the reach is perfect for me with a 120mm stem.

Cassettes "fall apart" and slide onto a freehub body and are locked on. Freewheels thread on and do not come apart...Sounds like you have a freewheel.
