Good points, thanks everyone. I’m going with 32. It’ll be nice to have the peace of mind riding in the middle of nowhere at 2am on a potholed road.

I’m building a new set of wheels for a bike. I’ve always used 32 spokes, front and rear, because I’m risk averse. And I’ve never had a problem.

But I’m wondering if with modern rims 28 spokes...
