I stopped by a bike shop today that had lots of old parts. I found a set of those holders with tabs. Stuck my Koolstop 'pads' in them and they work:thumb:

I re checked that bolt , it was snug but could have been tighter, so I cranked on it a bit . Between that and bending the arms a bit it seems ok for now.

Time will tell . :)
