HIIT on Schwinn Upright 170

I'd like to switch over to HIIT as I hear it's a better way to go. Any suggestions on setting up a manual program?
Thanks.

Of course Shimano is no help.
Any...

Calories Burned

I have checked the online cycling calories burned calculators and they are wildly different, even with the same information.
