Measure twice, braze once. In my case, I usually measure 8X...put one on my first frame w/o issues. The hanger I have has a slotted hole like most of em' so you do get a little slop.

I agree with Linus - don't make it difficult, and do it properly. The drivetrain should be all Campy. Get the compact Athena crank and the 12-29 and you'll be happy. Trust me.

I did a little experiment last night with a tin/silver solder on a scrap tube and made a nice blob no problem, with minimal heat. It files nicely, very hard and is definitely adhered to the steel. :)
