Hi guys

Iv just picked up this frameset to build into a road bike.

I know its probably not what its badged as, but after finding out what it is.

from what i can tell it's original colour....

I have to agree, buy a cheaper, ally bike and save the rest for all the extras you will end up wanting.
if you are new to cycling, you wont notice the difference tbh

I'm about to hit the same boat, looking for 1" fork to replace my 850g steel one. A lighter steel one may be an option or its hylix, glad to see the headset issue can be worked around.

A little bit of lateral thinking should solve most issues. If you use a longer one, just be mindful of how its loaded.

I have removed similar with a coin held in adjustable spanner. 'Copper' coins will be softer than the cap so will save it if it goes wrong.
