Just had a quick look, it is actually marketed as a relaxed ride. On the contrary of the Quick 1, which I have always thought to be more of a flat bar road bike. Have you compared the geometry of the...

Will definitely start a thread and try to log as regularly as I can - though don't...

...Well, in more ways than one. First of all, as I started posting without introducing myself. Naughty. Second, in terms of picking up cycling, which is the main reason I am here.

So, about me:...

Thanks for that Tim. Actually decided against it (gut feeling, although as you also said, the components would have probably been more than fine) and went for a Merida Speeder 400 - from what I read,...

Thanks both. The Quick 1 is now my first choice with the Merida 400 (which would actually be my first choice but very hard to find) - it just seems to tick all the boxes. Was going for the Sirrus 3.0...

Specialized Sirrus 3.0 - Components

Found a Specialized Sirrus 3 (2020 model) discounted to £799, and quite tempted. One thing that puts me off is the components used (Microshift/Sora and Tektro brakes) which, for what I am reading...

Right, I think I have settled on a Specialized Sirrus 3 - found a 2020 model going for £799 new. Only minor worry is that they seems to use pretty modest components - Shimano Sora rear derailleur and...

Yeah, only issue with the Trek is they seem slow - at least going by data from 99 Spokes. I know you can customise and mod gearing but I am not a "tinkerer" so will need something quite nippy from...

Yeah the FX Sport looks good actually. But at that price point, I think I'd rather go for a Specialized Sirrus X 4.0 - I really like the idea of the Future Shock and it feels like it would make sense...

Hmm I think I felt OK with the Roam rings. Granted, I have used the smaller ring sparingly but have the feeling I would like to have the option. Not sure, really torn - I am actually thinking of...

Great, really appreciate it! Well mainly I am undecided between three bikes - Giant Escape 1 (not 0 as I don't like the idea of a 1x drivetrain), Sirrus 3.0 and now Canondale Quick 1 (not 2...

New bike advice - Giant Escape, Sirrus 3.0 etc

Hi all,

New kid on the block looking for some advice.

Recently had my (new) bike stolen and on the lookout for another one. I am very much a utilitarian rider who is keen to get a bit more...

Haha yeah I can see how that would be fun. My brother is the same (but funnily enough I don't think he has done many mods to his road bike). I am on the other end of the spectrum, or if I can pay...
