Power meters are the best training/racing equipment you can buy, period. Buy used if you need. Its even more critical if you race triathlons.
Case in point. Did a 12 mile time trial last week...

I have never had to do a number 2 while bike ridding. Yes for running but not cycling. But do some lite sit ups before heading out the door. Honestly I do the same before leaving to work. Helps...
