I just bought a 122.5 mm Tange square taper cartridge BB for $36, and a Velo Orange 124mm for $40. Both seem to be of excellent quality.

Nothin' wrong with wanting new stuff -- especially if you've gotten good use out of the old ones. Tubeless tires, disc brakes, and a dropper post will be revelations!

There's no reason why all (or any) of your bikes have to have disc brakes. I have four bikes with discs, three with rim brakes, and I never even think about them; I just grab the bike that's suited...
