If someone gave me that bike for free, I'd take it straight to the co-op and donate it. Bottom of the barrel, basically a BSO (bike shaped object). I could not recoup the value of any consumables, while the co-op has the advantage of free (donated) consumables.
Stamped drop outs, steel seat post, cottered crankset, nutted axles, etc.
