Did the switch on what was originally a 53/39, 11-23 9 speed crit bike (1999 Peloton) and is now a GRX 46/30 12-27 10 speed much friendlier road bike.
No complaints. At 57 y/o and 200+lbs I needed a break from grinding.

Even on a road bike, I would prefer (at age 58, and living in a VERY hilly area) something smaller than a 34...And I have no use for a 50. 'Course, I suppose I can always run GRX on a road bike - what's to stop me?
