Keeping a Townie parked upright without a kickstand is probably a lot tougher than for a 15 lb road bike.

My observation is that many kickstands affixed with a M10 bolt with a 8 mm socket onto a plate between the chainstays often end up coming loose, especially if the kickstand is made of steel. The top of the kickstand can deform, which loosens the whole assembly. Fender washers, thread locker, and a bunch of torque seems to slow the process, but not always halt it.
