So apparently "Go Lance!" is still the heckling phrase of choice, even among country-dwelling*, creek swimming* Gen-Z'ers

I put the bike on the stand tonight (properly this time Rj)
Time for my weekly clean and lube. While doing that I also wanted to narrow down the squeaking I have been hearing.
Well, It seems to be coming from everything drive chain related. I don’t think it’s the pedals, But I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. I sprayed some tri flow on the pulleys, and relubed the chain. It seemed to help but I don’t really know what else to do. Cassette was tight, and if the wheel spins freely there isn’t any squeak.

There's one thread about 10R vs 12R, and one thread about 10S vs 12S. I'm tickled.

I look at their nasty stuff back east, and it makes me want to hurl. The good ones take in stride, and have no issue charging for it.

It was a rainy dreary morning so I took the rain bike on a MUP adventure. All was well until the trail changed from paved to gravel. The crud from the trail started to accumulate inside the rear fender at the brake bridge (where the clearance is VERY tight) and the resistance gradually became more and more. Initially I put up with it and figured it would be a good workout, but in short order it became impossible to even turn the pedals over. I did my best to get the caked up crud off but it was not easy. I walked to the closest road and tried to find a fairly safe but direct route back to the paved section of the MUP. I got lost several times but finally made it. The ride back was reasonable and despite the annoyances it sure beats work.

According to the official Velo Vol mileage spreadsheet, last month I surpassed 75,000 miles since I became a serious cyclist in 2004.

I sold my dad's 1948 Plymouth that I inherited to a guy from Maryland...might have been Ohio. He told me he had spent a year or more looking all over the Northeast for this exact car but everything he found was almost a complete loss due to rust. He and his friends couldn't believe that the best one they'd seen was in Louisiana of all places.

You might be happy to hear the little neglected kitty is looking pretty good. His eye is fine now and he has put on a little weight. I feed him every time he comes by.

OK, Smartass, here's the book, the paper spread sheet and the computer printout from whatever program I was using at the time, probably Excel95:
BTW, this was a very light year, mileage-wise for me, only 3,945 miles. First my father was sick and in the hospital til he passed, then I was resident engineer for a fairly large bridge project that required long days, and my son was at Fort Benning and I made several trips there to see him. I'm amazed that I managed near 4,000 miles that year

This is what my spreadsheet looked like once upon a time. Back when I had energy to ride most days. I see there's three years missing from the folder with the rest of them.

The only cycling spreadsheets I have involve component options for frame-up bicycle assemblies. Weights and prices and such.
That and my list of MTBs from 1995 that weigh less than 26 lbs. Looks like I only made it to the letter N, then put the Voodoo on there.
Here it is if you're looking for vintage MTB action:
