Patched the tube on the rear tire of the mtb in preparation for some climbing today. You know you're cheap when the knobby tire is starting to expose the cords.

I was sweeping the garage floor and found this custom made presta to schraeder adapter. I might eBay it but I thought I’d give you guys a chance first. $5 + $15 s&h.

Hi everyone,
I need some help with my bike. I was riding it yesterday and suddenly the pedals started feeling really loose. I looked down and noticed that the crank arm was wobbling around. I tried tightening the bolts, but that didn't help. Has anyone experienced this issue before? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

ETA: If you rode it for a while with one loose crankarm, you're likely due for a new crankarm on that side.

I have previously mentioned my quest to have a 1989 Schwinn Circuit in my size (23"), and all the rigmarole I've gone through to create one, since I could never find one for sale for a non-ridiculous price. So, the week after I FINALLY haul two frames, a fork, and a headset to the South Bay for Dale Saso to swap the headset lower cup and upper race, and cut down and thread the fork to fit, somebody lists a 1989 Circuit on Ebay in my size, at a price I could have swallowed, if I hadn't already spend so much on frames and forks. Ah, well. C'est la vie.

Same. I think. They always over estimate, so probably just a couple inches of slush, typical this year. Sad.

Tough times out there in the job market for young STEMers, in biotech/science at least. I have five rather late raise letters to pass out today and they suck pretty hard. I feel bad for these kids. I can deal with a few percent for a year or two, but these kids are supposed to be making big steps up in their earning. Their contributions and capabilities are tremendously higher and more valuable than a year ago. for most of them at least.

Me too. I never have to wait for me at the top of a climb, I don't have to worry about me suddenly braking so I touch wheels and go down, and I don't have to worry about getting a face full of my own snot rocket.

Why?
If you are, it's despite post #10785, not because of it.

If they're actually walking that much it's not bad. And the accuracy of the devices will surely improve in the future.

I listened to a podcast about this last night. The problem with that traditional system, of course, is that an "accurate" reading every few months (and obviously a nurse testing your BP right after you walk into the exam room isn't very representative) isn't that great.

Bad news came true. Trek, like most bike shops are struggling right now to move bikes, so trek just cut the staff including my best friend. Pretty bummed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the shop doesn’t close in a year or 2. He made the shop what it was, organized rides and made it a place where cyclist could hang out. It was also one of the most successful trek stores in Va, so it’s kinda of frustrating. Definitely bummed right now.

Not sure I completely buy it, but the doctor on the podcast said a device clued him in on Lyme disease before he started showing symptoms because his heart rate turned abnormal after he had been in a wooded area.
