Thanks, MountainDave!
I’m pretty pleased with how wonderful the blue powdercoat came out.
And yes, Mark does great work. The “Gugificazione” decal arrived last week…

I’m down in Olympia, Washington where today I’ve just picked up my 1985 65cm Trek 660 from Forever Powdercoat.
I bought it from Forum member, RiddleofSteel in 2019.
I then sent it to Forum member, Mark Guglielmana of Portland, Oregon. Mark added René Herse direct mounts for Mafac centerpull brakes, plus mounts for my Velo-Orange fenders and Nitto Randonneur rack.
I used Illusion Blue powder from Prismatic Powders to approximate a Toyota color, RAV4 Electric Storm Blue.
I also ordered a complete Trek “Build A Set” of Trek 660 decals, including gold foil headtube badge and Reynolds 531 decal, from Velocals shortly before they closed their doors on 12/31/22. They will be missed! 😭
I’ve had encouragement from Forum member Drillium Dude to address and speed up my backlog of projects, so this will be my 1st build of 2023.
Thanks for looking.

Love that rack, I'm not familiar with that one. Where'd you find it?

It’s a Pelago ‘small’ Commuter rack with the optional pannier support legs. In spite of being the ‘small’ version, it’s still pretty big. I got it for my tandem, but decided to put it on the Trek to see how it handles a front load. It’s not the most ‘elegant’, but it’s reasonably priced and seems decently made. Only initial complaint is I wish the back of the platform was a ‘tombstone’ shape. Winter crashed down right after I mounted it, so I haven’t yet had panniers on it.

I got something similar (probably a rebrand from the same company) without the lowers as I already had lowriders. I modified it to mount to the low rider mid-fork eyelet. I also used Raclips to secure the bottom of the front bag and a custom @gugie decaleur so the lack of a tombstone is not an issue. Photos in the link in my sig for the ‘79 710.
I've got a VO decaleur that didn't work out on another project that I'll use on this bike, so the lack of the tombstone isn't that big of a deal- however I want to be able to move the rando bag to my tandem too, but that frame is smaller with a taller stem, so I'll need to make/have made some kind of a stem-mounted decaleur that will accept the bag-mounted part of the VO.

Cleaned off my 1992 Trek 950 and installed a set of Continental Winter Contact 26 x 1.9 tires. Much of the snow has melted off but the trails will have ice and snow and these are fine winter tires. Plus I picked up a 1993 Trek 750 I need to fix up; I've always wanted one of these hybrids to fix up. It came to me with a funky set up: drops and thumb shifters. I'll probably go with flat bars.

Thanks! The 900 series Trek MTBs pop up from time to time but it me a long time to find a lugged, upper end Trek hybrid. I have a set of 700 x 38c tires for the bike. Maybe I'll go with bar ends and keep the drops; it would make this an easy build. The cantilevers need to go but the other parts are in good shape.

1980 Trek 510 / Ishiwata 022.
My errand bike since Sept 2014 and in dire need of TLC, but it never seems to have any down time. It was an evilbay find, and the only original parts are the frame, the brake calipers (SunTour Superbe), and the seat post.(SR Laprade). All else was salvaged from my previous townie (old road bike that rusted out at the bottle bosses).

Yup. That was a fairly worn out 52t ring. That '91 Athena crank and the associated bottom bracket are among the things needing replacement. Last I had the crank off, the drive-side taper looked as if it was not long for this world.

Another Trek 720. 1984 Built on my birthday when I would have been 11 y/o. Took another 37 years to get to me as a F&F and now built up with many goodies and already has ~1400 miles since later last year. Best fit I've had on an off the shelf bike in a long time (since my Serotta)

Again, another early 720 with the dual eyelets on the fork ends.
When I was actively looking for bikes, I'd always see 56/22.5" frames and bigger. Without real scientific data- I'd guess there are much much fewer 19" frames than any other size- and it just so happens this one fits like a glove. There's something *right* about Trek's touring geometry-
