Does it really make much of a difference in terms of storage? Regardless, if that's the path of least spousal resistance, go with it. I'd probably go with a Wahoo just because I've got a Bolt, but I think that most in the $500-600 region are pretty competitive.

2019 Cannondale Super Six Evo 105 Carbon for $1,520. Is this my next bike?
Going to replace my 15 year old aluminum bike if I can find a good deal. I was planning on getting the 2019 CAAD 12 105 but they don't seem to be available. For about $250 more than the unavailable CAAD 12, I can get the carbon frame and save a pound. Rim brakes of course.
Thoughts? TIA.

Someone on NextDoor was asking why some runners run in the street. It was predictably one-sided and lacking perspective, so I thought that I'd provide some. Yeah, that went well.

CycleOps makes a nice trainer. I have one. We use them at the shop. They have smart trainers starting at $235.

New, from a well know retailer running a labor day sale. I would rather get the cheaper, unavailable bike and trade the 1 pound weight savings for the $250 savings. I can tolerate the higher price since it gets me a ~17.5 pound bike. Things have changed over the past 15 years. :shrug emoji:

But it's less expensive than a dumb trainer and a power meter.

The Cycle Ops Magnus was good value for the money. Controls resistance and has a built in cadence function without a separate sensor needed. Like speed. I think the M2 is the current model and cheaper.

All of this trainer talk is depressing.

Hey MoAlpha, I did a decent amount of research on Smart Trainers before making my purchase. Best resource is DCRainmaker, he comes out with an annual trainer review every fall. If you are in no rush, you may even want to wait until October-ish or whenever the next version comes out.
Bottom line is that the major manufacturers of Smart Trainers are all pretty competitive and at any price point, they all offer reasonable options. Wheel-on trainers are cheaper by a few hundred $$, with tradeoffs. Look at what you really want from a trainer and figure it out. At a certain point, deciding what trainer is "best" at a given price point is like asking which brand bicycle is best, they are all similar with very minor differences.
What are your goals for said trainer??

1 hour AR on the TT bike this morning. On the trainer. It is just easier to maintain a civil pace on the trainer as opposed to trying to tone it down on hills, and stuff.

All people really care about is that it works with Zwift right out of the box.
