Cool shot. I figured you would've raced one of your Ritcheys. I raced with my Ascent this past weekend as the only vintage bike and one of only two rigids among 29ers and full suspension jobs. It was a lot of fun passing modern bikes with the old Ritchey.

I agree, aesthetically they are super cool. functionally I think they are a little sluggish. spec'd at 1010g each.

Finally have something to show, got it 2 days ago. Walked into the local Goodwill and found this 1991 Fuji out on the floor. Marked as 20 but walked out with it for 10. I guess had been there too long and with a tear in the seat plus 2 flat tires. Cleaned it up with water only, haven't put any fine-cut polish to it yet.

The paint is in great shape, called meteor black. It's glossy black with metallic silver paint flicked all over it. A 21 speed Shimano 300 LX Exage group all there and still shifts like a new bike. The Avocet seat was gel with a tiny rip but it had to be changed out, replaced with a leather Avocet that feels great. The Blackburn rack came with it and will stay. The tires are original and are still in great shape. No cracks, holding air so far..... I think this bike was taken care of and stored well before leaving the PO.

Had the first real ride with it with the son around the neighberhood. Handles superb !

Another Goodwill find... this 1991 Giant Iguana appears to have next to no miles on it and even came with the owners manual attached to the handlebars.

Rode it in a 100 mile MTB race 2 weeks ago. I got a lot of compliments from mechanics n riders that day about it.

Right on neighbor. Beautiful Team Fat frame. I have an old WTB Phoenix that was upgraded (basterdized) with a disc brake tab by Steve Potts long after it was originally made. Fox reduced to a short travel and a few other goodies makes for a fun mishmash of old and new:

I swung by Velo Cult on this past Thursday night and the collection of vintage mountain bikes there should blow anyone's mind... One off team issues that belong to the owner, exceedingly rare prototypes, and a bunch of bikes that are just outstanding.

If you are in Portland it is worth a stop and there is cold beer and root beer on tap.

Top two are from Sun Top last fall. Bottom one is in the hills above Wenatchee earlier this spring. I will be in Portland early tomorrow to pick up an old Yeti project for my son. We plan on stopping by to see Sky's new shop before turning around and coming home...

Hey, I picked up the very same 88 Sierra, a 19" sized one but the finish isn't in as good a shape. I'll be stripping it down to the chrome and see if it can polish up nicely. I plan for a LHT styled dropbar tourer for mine. The 130mm rear spacing is the only issue with it as I have a plethora of 135mm mtb wheels.

I think it'll make a great commuter, fenders are a must with the U-brake.

This Miyata came in for service. The owner wasnt sure it was worth fixing and was contemplating the purchase of a Stop & Shop bike. Yes, Stop & Shop, the grocery store chain, is now selling bikes. I guess I have to step it up to compete with their $95 specials. Anyway, we convinced her the bike was worth fixing and would perform way better than anything you can purchase alongside a rack of ribs.

Very interesting. We didn't have welded steel bottom of the line Miyatas (Koga-Miyatas) like this in Holland. On the other hand the US didn't have the welded aluminum e-stay.

those red sidewalls work pretty well on that miyata. a lot of times that gimmick is too much but an that bike it pops.
