The NYT Spelling Bee game has some glaring omissions today. "EXIGENCE" being one. How does that happen?

Goatheads are the flat causer of choice here. I seem to be able to go for a while without any flats then get 3 in succession. Lately I've been getting flats on the mountain bike often as I have been exploring unknown terrain. Mountain bike still running tubes and the rear tire has no knobs left.
My friends with the e-bikes seem to get more flats than the rest of us on the road. I think they have Continental 4 Seasons or some such heavier tire. They both had flats on Saturday. The good part of that is it allowed me to cross a small valley and climb out the other side at my own pace while the rest of the group stayed back to watch the tire repair.

This might be P&R and/or 50+, but here goes.
For some reason the feed for "Dr Berg" popped up in my youtube feed. There was a video about how you should stop taking statins and take niacin instead for your heart.
The guy is a chiro and has a HUGE following. Of course if you do a scientific literature search you will see that the data to support Niacin is incredibly weak, while the data to support statins is quite strong and robust. Example: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6481694/
I suppose I should just chalk this up to more fake news, and anyone can now be an expert online.
Comments?

Chiros can definitely help with body pains. In my experience, MDs usually just want to give a painkiller or muscle relaxer instead of actually solving that issue. But I'd never go to a chiro for anything else. Heart = MD, and maybe cardiologist specifically. Of course me being me I'd also read some of the actual research.

Granted, I put chiropractors in a different category than osteos and MDs. I also have a cardiologist here.

It's been almost a week since I've been on my bike. However, getting to spend 4 days with my younger daughter was worth it. On Dec 9, I will fly to meet her, and we will drive home together for her month-long winter break.

My Grandfather and two of my Great grandfathers were Osteopaths. The Grandfather uses to say that Chiropractors quit after the first 6 weeks of Osteopathy School.
Mind you, I saw GGF's business card, from the late 19th Century, and the wonders of Osteopathy it extolled had a distinct "Snake Oil" feeling. And his name - Wiley J. Banning - didn't exactly inspire trust, either. But somehow, Osteopathy managed to get in under the modern medicine tent and now as I understand the training and licensing of DO's is similar enough to MDs that they're accepted.

My niece is a DO, following in the family tradition, which skipped 2 generations. And will likely die out with her, since nobody else in the family seems interested.

Our son came in from school last Wednesday, and left to drive back yesterday after lunch. We picked up our daughter and her husband yesterday afternoon at the airport, and they are driving to Austin tonight. Love it when they get here, hate it when they leave.
Daughter took this picture while on an African safari a few days ago. Took it with her phone while in the vehicle!
