Death fork? Naaaah!!
This Triplecross has been a work in progress since I built it up from a frame and fork to ride with my kids on farm roads. It's been posted here a dozen or so times over the years, but I think it's finished (well, maybe fenders in the spring.....)

Your Miyata looks like it would be a blast to ride... super solid, great handling, and quick! Please let me know what shift mounts you're running on your Triplecross, I'm looking for a mount just like that to run some down tube shifters up near the brake levers but I'm not interested in bar end shifters.
Thanks!

Give me some SPD pedals and I think I would enjoy wearing out that Triple-Cross!
Miyata being one of my favorite brands, their durability continues to impress.

I'm running a Specialized Captin 35c in the back and a Specialized Trigger 34c up front.. it's the only thing I have that'll fit.. Any suggestions? I think I can fit a 38c... I tried my Schwalbe Marathon XR's and Clement Xpolr MSO's both in 40c but thet were a tick to big....So close.

If the gravel is more hard packed like it is here, I roll with Challenge Alamanzos or Eroicas.
They changed the Eroica name to Strada Bianca recently.
They are all top shelf, no doubt. They are getting kinda spendy, but if you are patient you can catch a sale.
If the gravel is a little loose or sandy in spots, try a Kenda Small Block 8.
Great tires for many conditions and they are much wider than the others mentioned.
I also recently ordered Kenda Slant 6s for my Merckx Alu Cross, so we'll have to wait and see how they work out.

Yeah, no kidding! That looks like a sweet dirt road. In general, I've noticed that a well-packed and graded dirt road is actually a lot smoother overall than broken/patched pavement. The dirt in that photo is so smooth it looks like even a road bike with 23mm tires would do just fine.

Mine, a 1988 Peugeot Triathlon. The tube wrapping the top tube covers the model name... I hate that term for some reason
Stronglight 49d cranks, 105 derailers, DC centerpulls, original CTA bars and stem, Brooks Team Prof saddle that I stole from my dad and an unfortunate Easter egg color. Fits like a glove, though, and has plenty of room for bigger tires & fenders. I want to do the Pittsburgh-DC trail on it eventually but have to de-fat and un-weak a bit first.

I like that, RFC. There's something simple about it. What is it, and what are the tires?
