I just bought a kryptonite new york u lock. I'm a little disappointed with it actually. It's not long enough to fit around more than the top bar and whatever I'm locking to. I was hoping to at least be able to get the front wheel in the also.

yeah you can say that again.

I only ever lock my bike up if i'm running into the store for a minute anyway so I'm not too concerned. If it was any bigger i wouldn't be able to lift it anyway.

It's made to fit around your bike really tight so that no one can get anything in it to try and pry it off with leverage.

I sure did have a hangover. I don't drink anything like i use to, so my tolerance has gone WAY down. Not sure if that is a good thing or not?

HAHAHA pretty much what happened. She use to ride all the time when she lived in Philly. She came back here and got her license (never need to drive in the city) and stopped riding bikes. She keeps saying it is to "dangerous" here. really she didn't want to ride my mountain bike (it is to big for her). So i said i was going to buy her a bike. i finally got drunk enough to spend the money, hahaha.

you think because you don't have a front brake it is gong to make you a better rider is bull****. this 'anticipation' and making you think should have happened along time ago.

Aries is the ONLY person in the world who rides a fixed gear without a front brake so you are perfectly justified for being a dick head keyboard warrior and singling him out. Especially when he mentioned nothing of being a better rider for it, merely that he was having fun with it. You're the man. Carry on...

You should be locking up your rear wheel, not your front. On most fixed bikes you should be able to get the rear wheel and the seat tube locked to the pole without any room to give thieves space to work. That's the intention of the design, a longer u-lock is actually a lot less secure, particularly if a bottle jack can be slipped in somewhere

Yes. Pipe cutter and a grinder make for a nice neat chop.

I've had great luck with a pipe cutter ($5-12), and some metallic sandpaper ($2-4, possibly get a medium and a very fine).

A new tube. Because I popped it with a large piece of glass while commuting home in the rain. Then a 3mile walk in the rain. And now I'm sick. ha
