Taken yesterday afternoon along Deer Creek Road between Arastradero and Page Mill. I stop at the bus stop there every Sunday ride, have a bite and a drink, since I don't like eating one-handed on the bike.

Did you guys get the wind yesterday and last night? We had gusts well over 40. It's probably gusting over 20 mph right now. Trying to work up some motivation to ride across town to do some errands, but NWS says,
Showers. High near 50. Windy, with a south wind 26 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
This is the spring winds on steroids! Maybe I'll take the bus to and ride home. Crosswind is better than headwind, right?

I hope you stopped complaining today. Here in the East Bay it's been very warm and beautiful. I hope you got out for a ride today.

Oh, I'm complaining like crazy. It's gorgeous out and I am otherwise committed today -- good stuff, just not bike stuff. Hey, there's always tomorrow.

I've got it worse - I hear from y'all that it's beautiful, but I'm travelling on business so I'm not even there!

Oops. Time to dig a moat.

I once saw a house in the high desert that somebody thought needed to be built in a wash. I'll bet their first wet winter was a blast.

We have a swale.

But yes, we have had to dig a bunch of trenches/drains as well.

Seriously, we haven't seen the sun for more than five minutes at a time since 5/16; that makes two sunny days in over a month. It's cold too; 56F today.

you guys seem to know plants. I bought a cpl small potted lavender plants for my office, thinking they might smell good, but they didn't & didn't blossom. took them home & stuck them in the ground on the sunny side of the house. still nothing. maybe sometime this summer?

yeah warm sunshine is very nice, we had some on Monday. but I recall 56 degrees being very nice as well. maybe it was early spring last year? but I felt like 56F was so good. over on this side of the country, in the northeast, we know once it gets hot, it's gonna be very hot until October. so we're trying to remind ourselves to enjoy this post winter weather. here's hoping you get that sunshine CA is known for

They will be fragrant when they blossom. You want some fragrances? Grow mint but keep them in containers.
