Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There is a band arrangement.

We will not be playing it.

He said he's 80 years old. I would have guessed ~73. I guess serious band activities are good for your health.

It's dark out. Only thing to do now outside is watch for meteors.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for meteors while walking, might even throw some gum chewing into the mix.

I guess you could also shoot fireworks, like someone nearby did a little while ago.

forgot how much work kids are lol. Liz is taking a shower and I've been trying to feed Lilly, soothe her and get her to sleep. She's in some weird irritable gray area where she is showing signs of being sleepy. but resisting it. We're prob gonna have crap sleep for a few days haha. Good thing I'm mostly taking it easy and off the bike for the rest of the week minus the district TTT champs on Saturday and one more team practice.

You mean Charles Lindbergh?

Edit: Wait, they both did it on the same date?

As part of The Older Boy's Meatcutter apprentice training, his class is on a field trip to Harris Ranch, which is far enough away that they chartered a bus. A bus which left at 5:15, from a meeting place 15 miles away. I had to drop him off. So, I've been up since 4, and that's after Rango decided he wanted to be a pain in the ass at 2:30. I have a meeting to run at 8:00, so there was no point in going back to bed for an hour.

I think I'll catch a nap later at work. Then go for a ride.

14.
I left over an hour late and it was already hot. I turned around upon hearing gunshots clise by. One would think a hunter wouldn’t fire toward the road, but one never knows. And took an alternate way home.

Think George Costanza. I have never figured out how to embed with my iPhone, so we’ll just have to use our imaginations
And I woke up at two, for no reason and didn’t get back to sleep.
But I don’t have a meeting to run.

An hour is kinda sorta the cutoff for me as well regarding trying to get back to sleep after an early morning interruption. Also, we used to stop at Harris Ranch a lot growing up when driving from N San Diego county to visit family in San Jose. I've got a lot of memories of walking around there growing up. Not much else to see out there haha!
