Just dropped the checkpoint off. That new front rotor is rubbing ridiculously, and they will put the schwalbe tires on.

By car it’s not too bad, though a few of those hairpins are really tight.

I can just imagine them building those hairpin turns in the mountains in the old days: “Hey Gomer, take this tape measure and climb over to the other side of that hump of rock over there. Don’t fall, it’s our last tape measure.”

wife took the daughter to see wish. It was a prearranged promise, and she doesn’t break her promises, even if she looks like death. She just got home. She looks worse than when she left.

Nice ride, 44 miles, 4 of us. Cold (for SoCal) at the start and chilly headwind on the way back. This time we were all tired. They've been riding a lot lately and even the Hammer Princess was hurting a bit. I think that's a new feeling for her, at least the first time in quite a while. She always recovers faster than the others on the Tuesday crew.
So naturally I went to the front when the headwind started and she and her husband didn't even bother trying to stay on. I almost felt bad. Twice recently.

worked at a neighbor’s service station in my teens
gas station attendant - ‘petroleum distribution engineer’ lol
customer - little old lady - had a 65 goat like above but dark navy blue
original owner mint condition low miles
of course I took special care of her and the car
she had my name if she decided to sell the car - I was on a long list lol

Years ago someone gave me a convertible Corvair in similar condition. I started stripping the interior and cleaning and painting and got tired of it. I found an older woman who had a hardtop stickshift Corvair and I wanted to buy hers and convert mine to stick and use the engine and interior from hers. She wasn't ready to sell and by the time she was, I had decided not to take on the job. I was so burned out from working and building up a Mustang that I just couldn't do it again. I sold the convertible cheap.
But now I'm retired.

We are expecting similar temps for our ride tomorrow. But we will be doing winter/social pace, ie Zone 2. Avoid sweating in the cold weather. Trust me on this.

It would be pretty sweet if one day in the distant future we could all meet there for a ride. I’m sure if trainsnorter ever recovers, he and his better half would be down. I’ve ridden with Lester, he’s a cool dude and is basically there indef. Tmonk isn’t terribly far away. 8 hours give or take. Datlas needs the excuse. Eric is 8 hours give or take. Gene might have a harder time getting there. bah needs to get back on a bike. Seeds could use the sun. Mojo LOVES road trips, Moalpha deserves it. I’ll pick up whyfi on the way. Indy we will tell you all about it. Iso? Big John can hitch a ride with TMONK or Eric.
edit: Velo won’t show.
edit: We need all the dougs to ensure we don’t do drugs.
edit: We need rj to inform us we are all doing it wrong.

It will just be the workout and bail. The road I use is fairly close to my house. Plus, Ms is still sick so will have to be back before she gets over run by the kids.

Nice man from FSA called me after I left a message again. He said the chainring I want is out of stock but they have a batch of them due in a couple weeks but they are all spoken for. Said I probably can't get one until April. After a little more chat he said he would try to get me one from the incoming order and made an order form for me.
I suppose if I get the ring I will have to buy a chain and cassette, etc.

that’s how they get you. Starts with a chain ring, next thing you know you buy a house.

Froze for 24 miles in mid 30's, stiff wind too. Bike performed well. Shifted perfectly. No free hub issues. The DT Swiss grease solved the sticky pawls problem completely. The rebuilt rear wheel felt great nice and straight. I was a little worried about the 25 mm tyres I put on it. 3.5mm of side clearance each side. I put some blue painters tape inside the chain stays, the tyres would leave a mark if they touched. But all clean.

Ok your choice. I suggest either an easier ride outside or if you “must” do a workout consider doing on the trainer?
