Was hoping to get to 700 for the season in what has been a very challenging year life-wise.
The good fall wx helped me get there. Gunning for 800 now....

It was a good November for me. I don't think I will hit 4K for the year, but I am going to try.

November = 370 miles
I was hoping for 500, but two weekends spent traveling, cold weather, and a head cold limited things. Garmin says I'm at 3,317 for the year, but that doesn't quite include all of my riding, whether rides I forgot to track or commuting/errands. I'm likely around 3,500.

October shows only 135 miles for me, way down from recent months, but I'm already way ahead of my annual goal of 2,500 miles. I hope to do more than 135 miles in December, but it depends on a lot. Overall, it's been an excellent year for mileage and strength and fun on the bike.
I lost my job on Tuesday, which is a punch in the gut, so I'm rethinking many aspects of my life, including, of course, what I'll do next to earn a living. My commute provided most of my miles these past three years, and it was longer than I wanted -- 13 miles each way --, but it was also a blessing. I didn't ride to work every day. Maybe if I get a job seven miles away or less, I can ride almost every day.
My mileage excludes most of my rides on Citi Bike, but those don't add up to many miles anyway.

Sorry to hear about your job. Always a challenge, for sure.
I hope it works out well for you and soon.

Well, since I'm feeling a little under the weather today, the totals for the year are already in...
December = 312
2017 Total = 6,516
4,640 outdoors and the balance in my spin class (lead that at my local Y, 2-3x/week).
Rode the outdoor stuff on 17 different bikes this year (anywhere from 887 to 25 miles per bike) - need to examine the list of those not ridden much and de-clutter.
One of my other goals is to spend a net hour a day doing cardio work. For the year, I managed 391 hours which has been in line with the last 6-7 years or so.
The balance of the winter looks to be one of the tougher winters that we've seen lately, so hoping I can get 2018 off to a reasonable start toward whatever goal I decide on for next year.
Hope your riding year was a success and is even better in 2018!

Only 85 miles this month, 3365 for the year. Not a great month, high winds, brush fires, holidays, then got sick after all that. Enough excuses, shut up and ride!

I had a surprisingly good December and still managed to put on weight, those stinking holiday cookies get me every year.
My goal for the year was 3K and I managed to get over 4K, so that will become my goal for 2018.

Well. I broke my personal best. But, my goal was 15,600. Just so I could say I averaged 300 miles a week. It got so cold here, I just couldn't do it.
Edit. I don't count my "errand " bike miles. Which was about 200. So, if I wanted to "cheat", I did meet my goal.
BTW. I'm never gonna make this attempt again. If you see me logging anything close to this...say something. I need an intervention.

Here's what my year looked like according to Garmin:
Jan: 0
Feb: 39
Mar: 118
Apr: 330
May: 640
Jun: 302
Jul: 225
Aug: 36
Sep: 548
Oct: 748
Nov: 332
Dec: 97
Total from those is 3,414 for the year. That doesn't include a few rides which I didn't track plus commuting and errand running so I'd feel comfortable adding another 300 miles to that total. The inconsistency of the year is due to several factors: Boston winter (and I usually run in the winter or do indoor trainer), travel (particularly in August), injury (hernia surgery in early July), laziness. But it's probably more miles than I've done in any previous year, and I hope to top that next year.

Kevindale, you were ahead of me for a while, but you're still doing well. You're also a heck of a lot faster than I am. I know, I look at the figures some of these studs post, and I think wow. But I'm also happy to compete with myself and see myself improve. I also feel it.
Thanks much for the complement on my speed, such as it is. I made a conscious effort to both be able to handle long distances and to see how fast I could push myself to go on solo rides (with the goal of easily being able to handle group rides at 20 mph, so I shot for 18 mph on solo rides). 2017 was my first year of real road riding (as opposed to riding to commute, or occasional weekend jaunts). I did my first metric century and for the first time rode more than 1000 miles in a year. I blew past my 2500 mile goal, and would have hit my 3000 mile stretch goal if I hadn't taken those 2 weeks off, or if we didn't have this crazy freezing weather the last couple of weeks.

Congrats to everyone who hit their goals, and to the many who put down serious milage. This C&V group has continually inspired me though the last couple of years, and I'm a better person for it. Thank you all. Here's hoping 2018 is even better!

None of the numbers below include my mostly regular commute to the gym and work (avg ~40/mo). I only live 2 miles from work and 1 mile from the gym, so I don't rack up huge numbers. Also means I can get to either place about as fast on bike a as by car.
April Total 53.4
May Total 77
June Total 210.5
July Total 280
Aug Total 245.8
Sept Total 83.9
Oct Total 82.55
My overall total was ~450 miles of what I call commuting (riding to a place with a purpose other than just riding a bike) and about 940 miles of "fun rides" (riding just to get out and ride). According to the tax mileage costs, I saved about $240.
