Here is the latest of my stable of 3. Sorry about the grainy pixs. Can't find much on the web about this one, it was off ebay from someone also selling a trek prototype. Great ride with rear suspension.

Some basic info such as model number and a pic can be found on the Chinese Dahon site. The frame is identical to that of the Dahon Jetstream XP, loaded with lesser componentry. So if you spent big, you'd end up with an XP.

That's what I thought when I bought it. Got it off ebay for a steal, it had hardly been ridden, so I spending on upgrades was part of the plan. I made the mistake of just buying the perfect bike once, oh those boring winter nights with nothing to tweak or fiddle with :-(

$90 no name bike
didn't want to spend a lot of money for a bike to use just around campgrounds or short bike trail rides. Got this from RV toyoutlet. advertised as a folding cruiser steel frame 20" 30# 5speed (sunrun) bike.
It did require minor adjustments of front brake (band brake on rear) and fenders. I trued the front wheel, added lights, bottle holder, bell, tightened all bolts and swapped out the seat for a 'comfort' seat (no horn). Tires are no name brand and will probably need replacing after a year or so.
I am using the box it came in for storing it in my truck folded.
quality of welds, paint, components look OK. made in China-of course.

I have two folders, one is a bike friday new world tourist with drop handelbars and is white. The other is the Dahon Solo from last year, had no choice on the color as it only came in beige/tan, I like it though and is my main commuter/ice cream ride bike, great single speed!!

Well, I've been hanging out in the folder forum, and lusting after a folding bicycle for quite a while. I finally took the plunge and bought my first folding bicycle back in December. Many thanks to all who knowingly, or unknowingly provided useful information and motivation for this bike!
The bike, yet to be named, is a Bike Friday New World Tourist. It's a straight up touring bike. It's shown below without racks, in the snow that is keeping me from getting out and enjoying it!!
The pedals and saddle are not final. The old-style Dura-Ace pedals are placeholders for Speedplay Frogs. I have a B-17 Champion Special for it, but it is currently being broken in on my commuter.

it is full size with 26" wheels. 1st one delivered was damaged & I sent it back. second one upon examination had buckled wheel, gear changers wrong, more or less all parts badly fitted, after 15 miles cranks were loose. says a lot about the staff that assembled them. however I have now stripped & rebuilt it (well most of it anyway) and its pretty good for the price.
dont know about taking it on the bus though as the bus services want them to be stored in an overhead locker.
have really got a thing now about folders, looking for 20" wheel next I think, or something that will fit into a laptop bag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brand new Bianchi Fretta, sadly no real miles on it yet but I love it. All standard Capreo components at the moment, the only change is the MKS removable pedals. Now I just need to locate the source of the horrendous rattle coming from the front end.
