the obvious reply to this is if you really ride whats comfortable for you, why are you riding an aluminum track bike on the street?

and the reason for two brakes is that I ride about 50/50 fixed and free...so it isn't worth taking the rear brake off...I mean...it can't really hurt me...just a bit of extra weight...
