A friend has hacked his to allow assist up to 40mph. He also carries 2 extra batteries which gives about 65 miles with hills. He pushed me up a hill and it was ridiculous. It's basically an electric motorcycle.

The clouds lift eventually and good times begin again. Been there, done that.

I remember back in Vancouver, while I was commuting to Portland often, I'd get passed by a guy that was serious about ebiking (which was still pretty rare, 2012-ish). He had a trailer with a couple of plastic cases on it. One for battery backs, one for cargo.
I hated getting passed by that rolling discotheque at 6:00 am.

Even in my current out of shape fatso state, I very rarely find an MUP cyclist I can't drop @ will. The local bike path is not exactly bristling with Cat 123's.

You really have no idea. That bicycle on hills is like our old pal Lance on EPO, blood doping and steroids. Like I said, it's really fun to ride : ).

I don't know the settings he uses but he likes to cruise with people, so he doesn't go 40 very often. I think he has a 500 watt motor and I think the one Pcad has is 250.

For me me the one true false negative happened last weekend. At a three way stop, I made a u turn, and there was a car heading at the stop sign behind me (after my turn). The car apparently made a right turn, basically turning into the lane behind me and since the turn speed was low, radar didn’t detect it until the car sped up to overtake. There was still ample time until it was detected and it passed, but made me make a mental note to check my six visually after stop signs.
Did you notice cars cars showing up in the middle of screen like other wahoo users reported?

On occasion, but I also had them showing up at the very bottom. Kinda hard to give undivided attention, but it seems that, when they showed at the very bottom, they progressed pretty quickly to the middle, slowing thereafter. Almost seems logarithmic rather than linear progression.

Greg LeMond was right. It doesn't get easier, you just go faster.

I'm not sure this proves anything beyond the probability that you can find a 'study' to support any viewpoint:

Lemond never had an eBike. It's way easier. But generally you can get a good workout, you do go a lot faster.
