At 200lbs, I can descend pretty fast, even being 6', as long as there are no turns. Throw those in, and every time I approach one, my mind runs a little move for me of crashing, either into the oncoming lane, or over the side of the hill. It's annoying and leads me to actually shouting out loud, "LET OFF THE BRAKES!"

Considering that I live in the second flattest state in the Union, I don’t feel too bad about 196,729 feet and 6,814 miles (7,248 w/trainer). Doubt that I’ll hit 7,000 this year due to weather, doctors, etc. So close…
For the record, 23rd eye injection this morning and now studying (starving) for a colonoscopy tomorrow.

the frame could have been treated / dipped / whatever (?) - before paint - so good chance it will be fairly resistant to corrosion
(regardless) the dropouts are probably high-end forged (or investment class ?) and are probably fairly resistant to corrosion
you could visit your local hobby shop or similar and find a small bottle of paint that is close to that color ... ?

Ritchey might have touch-up paint for yours. If not, a car parts store might have a close match. Mine both fly a bit, so I'm not going to spend a lot of time dealing with it. I may make it a yearly ritual.
I guess since mine goes in the cargo hold I just expect that they will get a little banged up even with the OEM padding. Seems every TSA agent has to open the case to see for themselves that it really is a bicycle, and it does get shifted around a bit.

I canceled the brakes order, and went with something that can be gotten locally. TRW ceramic. Ceramic after I did some research and found OEM to be ceramic. There is a line to be walked as a wealthy foreigner in a small town. The last thing I want to do is flaunt my relative wealth. This way the shop will make some money on the parts. A much better way to do it.

My guess is that t2p is right on the money. Both of my Ritchey Breakaways have plenty chips in the paint and neither has rust spots. They do appear to have some kind of coating to improve paint adhesion and prevent rust.

They had a part I wanted, at a good price, but I gotta say I found the name thoroughly offputting. Does not inspire confidence.

For years, Ritcheys were painted by Rick at D+D Frame Services in San Leandro, across the Bay. I had him repaint my Ritchey when its original white paint started looking scabrous after 10 years. He uses Dupont Imron, which is a catalysed paint. RIck gave me a vial of touchup paint, but suggested it had limited shelf life, probably for that reason. So, yeah, try an auto parts store, but there's also Testors and nail polish.
back in the late 70's friend used Imron on his car ... 68 SS Chevelle
his father owned a body shop - but painted the car at another shop with a better spray booth and respirator ... apparently that stuff is nasty
unfortunately the car met an early death ... driver ran a traffic light and T boned it ... of course just before I was planning to purchase it
pics attached - before and after

I was shocked the first or second time I went there when I found out that there were a lot of people getting them from my doc and he’s not the only one in the practice who administers these injections.
