Today I went riding at the bike path. It was a little windy but beautiful. I saw a lady pushing her e-bike and asked if she needed help. She had a rear flat and no tools, pump, or spare tube. I think it was a 700 wheel and I considered giving her my spare tube but the axle needed a 10mm allen wrench which I didn't have. I suppose I could have pulled the tube out and tried to patch it but she said she only had to walk a couple more miles and seemed ok with that.
Later I caught up to a woman on a road bike and she was moving along pretty good and I didn't feel the need to pass her but she slowed a bit so I moved way left just as she blew her nose. She saw me and was very apologetic. I told her she didn't make a direct hit so no problem. Then she wanted to draft me because of the wind. It's one thing I'm good for, so, have at it. She stayed on for a few miles until I turned off. That was fun.

I'm finally putting the American Classic hubs to use that I picked up on deal a couple years back.

They are. They seem to build up nicely and they're even relatively round.

I was riding on the MUP today and as I was passing a store a guy yelled out at me "I love your bike!"
It ended up being a super nice guy that I've met in the bike shop. Has a sweet e-cargo bike that he and his two young sons are always out running errands in.

Finally some good friggin news on the Covid front:
According to the Brits, people who drink between 5 and 14 glasses of wine or liquor ("units") per week were 10-17% less likely to get Covid compared to those who drank more or less.
However, beer and cider actually increase your chances of getting the Cov by as much as 28%.

Pretty excited about that news as I can definitely stay within the sweet spot.

That's exactly what I thought about that old saying of find something you love then you never regret going to work, nonsense. As soon as you put time and a price tag on it it starts to suck. Then add 30 0r 40 years..
I loved being a Carpenter most days until everything became so effing blood thirsty.

I loved carpentry too. I got out just as compressors were coming in. Timing.

Did a really hard ride today. I think it was probably the hardest I have ever gone on a bike. It felt good, but at times I thought I was going to be sick. The guy I was with is a beast. BTW I did this with only 1 hour of sleep.
Something I noticed, I felt like I was shifting my hips alot while pedaling, vs what he looked like. Not sure if that’s because of how much effort I was putting into it or the fatigue or a fit issue.
