Random Thought Thread, aka The RTT (**possible spoilers**)

Raced the first local Wednesday nighter of the year last night. Showed up, handed in my reg + $20, grabbed some safety pins. Went to pin my number and realized that the safety pins are some kind of low-grade off-brand... they were bending in half instead of going thru the tyvek. WTF?
Finally got pinned, put the jersey on zip up, do the "bend over to check for good number placement" move, and "POP" one of the pins breaks and goes flying off.
What. The. Hell. is wrong with this country when you can't even count on a safety pin? I cry for what America once was.

I buy 14,400 at a time. I think I have about 20,000 pins right now. Rainbow Racing, they sell them 10 boxes (of 1440 each) at a time I think. Or that's how I buy them anyway. Between numbers and pins and other stuff my order this year was 92 lbs, about $2000.
Also I buy the hip numbers from them. Last year I went to a few races where the number started to smudge off the "paper". It was terrible. Hip numbers are big but it makes it easier for the photo finish. The numbers don't smudge either.

You'll have a blast. I assume they will have beginner sessions similar to the track I go to on occasion (Hellyer in SJ).

I've got a good tag line for you:
"I put the "fest" in manifesto". With that and a Zodiac signature graphic you're good to go.

Cervelo has a new $10,000 frame out. In typical Cervelo fashion, they forgot they had to put wires in it to run stuff...really? That's the best Di2 placement you can come up with?

At least it looks like they figured out that the rear brake cable should come out of the top to smooth out the curve.

Hm. Okay. Thanks for the heads up. I worry that too many racers will show up. I even kept it M45 to keep the field size down (vs M40).

That Cervelo, OTOH, meh. Also, I'm probably one of the tiny % of riders who are immediately turned off by Mavix wheels.
