Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Man, parts of the neighbourhood were even worse than they were two days ago. More ice. I had to go over parts of people's yards to avoid it.

In the words of DougRNS , "F that noise."

They kept changing the forecast but last I heard was rain after midnight, then all day. It sprinkled a little around 8:00 but it's been dry most of the day. It's ok, I'm tired anyway.
Maybe a club ride tomorrow.

inorite? I kinda hate these trips to The Home Office because it means no ride for up to a week, AND I have the anxiety of flying, and being at a strange place, and no bike to ride for mental health!

Old shop is in between mechanics at the moment and I’ve been working there on Saturdays to help out. Being the most experienced wrench has meant I get the complicated stuff or the more involved tickets that need an uninterrupted block of attention.

Built this for a customer today. 13.75 pounds:

Weighing one’s morning coffee is a bit over the top.

As do we, but until last week the weather has not felt at all like 'winter' -- very mild, by our standards, and little to no snow. All changed now; still piling up. However: back to above freezing daytime high temps later during the coming week. The farmers of this area (SW Ontario) are not happy; farming here depends on a good, solid snow-pack during winter. Not likely to happen this year.

Correct: that is our arena -- Budweiser Gardens. Hockey, curling at times, but mostly hockey; it also doubles as a major concert venue. Quite posh, really, by regional arena standards.

True. Even if I haul the scale up here I'll never weight out my morning coffee on it.

When I go to YouTube, via Brave, all is normal. When I go in with the app, I’m getting Asian feeds of fake NFL stuff. Wtf? Back to the browser.

Ravens are favored over the Texans. Ravens have great D and beat the 49ers in SF.
