A different angle, my '64 Legnano on a morning ride, and my Raleigh looking over the burned hills near Ojai, CA, from Sulphur Mountain .

Never seen bars like that. Are those mtn bike bars with drop extensions? I dont see any brake levers, or are they just under the red grips? The red grips look too short to get a hold of. Off topic, but do you have another full on view of your set up? Definitely unique to me in 50+ years "behind bars". I ride 90% "on the hoods", or on the curved part just above the drop, not possible with yours. Interesting thread. Never knew there were so many bar configurations. Nice pictures, too.

Path Racer on the Dock
Well, I finally went and bought myself a Pashley. A local deal on Craigslist came up and I pounced.
Here's what she looks like in crotch-vision:
... and here's what she looks like from the drive-side:
This is going to be an interesting journey...

the pictures I could have taken might not be as nice looking as most have taken, but the "oh wow" or "smh" moments could be entertaining to some lol

Imagine coming around a switchback at 30 MPH only to find a dude sitting in the middle of the road after a wipe out !
This was the second time I saw a dude eat it on the descent. First time the dude was not so lucky. He could not get on his bike and was barely coherent. I ended up riding down to get my vehicle, drove back up and drove him home so his wife could take him to the ER. Didn't want an ambulance. Broken rib, fractured shoulder and a concussion.

I don't know this guy's case but the first crash I know what happened. We were at a popular rest stop 8 miles up getting ready for a 2300 ft descent with switchbacks. The guy arrived at the rest stop and said he was unusually tired as he did the climb often and his back was starting to hurt. I told him that maybe he had a soft tire. He said no that he had checked it already and it wasn't the problem.
When I arrived at his crash scene, he was out of it. I checked his tires and sure enough, the front was soft. I never do this descent without checking my tires one way or another. The stop and squeeze, or if needed, the bounce and push on the bars to make sure the front tire is not bouncy, and even the rear.
Oh, edit, BTW, there was a Ca state champion road racer that got killed on this same road a few years back. He was racing with his buddies down the road, hit a vehicle head on during a training ride.
