Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Easy choice for me.
1) How about neither?

2) This all comes about because we keep increasing the length of the sports season, so that football lasts starts in midsummer and extends nearly till Spring, baseball starts while it's still technically winter and lasts into November. Basketball starts in mid-October and runs till June. Madness!

EDIT: And they should get off my lawn.

If you count Spring Training and Fall Ball, baseball goes from Feb 22 to Nov 11. 3.3 months still seems like a long time to go without baseball to me

Maybe for rednecks, but us folks sophisticated to own a sailboat would rather sail across the snow and ice than be pulled. Much more impressive.

Are you including Spring Training? The MLB season starts right about April 1, which is not winter.

I'm counting games that are likely to be televised - exhibition, preseason, whatever you want to call them. I looked it up - exhibition games start the second week of March.

If I never saw another baseball game, I'd be perfectly fine with it. In fact I can't remember the last time I watched a game. Probably early teens at the oldest. My Grandfather would be disappointed - he played professional ball in the Teens of the last Century, and then umpired baseball for 57 years. I think he was in his 80s when he finally gave up the mask and chest protector.

100% going to bite them in the ass. Hill is such a threat on every single play....always has to be considered the target and covered with two players...

I could take a dry 101F game so long as I'm in the shade.

Flying back to Maryland tomorrow for a 3-day visit to The Home Office. Looks like I'm going from on and off rain with temps in the 50s to (checks notes) on and off rain with temps in the 50s. At least I'll know how to dress. Last week would have been more of a problem. Hell, TODAY would have been more of a problem - the high was 36.
