I was speaking with the seller about this bike back in May. It was first listed at about $1200 iirc. The price has been steadily going down since. I thought the bike was worth it even at the original price. It is certainly a bargain at the current price.

And remember that the price is in Canadian $ which is worth about $0.83 today. But you'll spend what you save in the currency exchange for shipping which is always very expensive from Canada.

I asked the seller how he knew and he sent this reply:
I posted it up online and another bike builder tagged him and he replied back, that it was infact one of his builds.
He also said the SN points to 1984 which I believe is a few years after Kellogg left Ross. So I dunno.
I'd suspect the blue one might be based on the color and cable guides, but I've seen a few like the smaller black one. I think those are bikes that came right after Kellogg at Ross, and they are very nice, probably because there of the bar being set by the people at Ross before.

I asked TK - it's a one off custom built bike he made for a friend. He said it was the only custom tourer he remembers making.

^ to me what's so distinctive about the black bike is the combination of lugs and filet. The seat cluster in particular is a thing of beauty. I have not seen other Ross bikes with that combination, but perhaps they exist. I have one of the post-Kellogg Sig. 294S bikes, and it's a quality ride but has nothing like the sort of build refinements of the handmade frames.

I wasn't sure what it was...but it didn't look like the Kellogg made tourers, and I didn't know he did any of them custom. No tubing sticker either. While it has those neat features, and more braze ons than I'd have expected, some of the lugs actually looked chunkier. The paint also wasn't what I expected. I (erroneously) assumed it was a model I hadn't seen before.

19" Scwhinn Paramount mountain bike 5'7 to 5'10 ready to ride - $175 (Lowell)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Paramount
size / dimensions: 19"
more ads by this user

I am selling a 1990's Scwhinn Paramount which I believe was made in the famous Waterford factory here in the US. The bike has a 19" Paramount Precision butted Tange steel tubes, full Shimano Deore LX group, Kalloy steel, Ritchey seat post and Ukai quick release alloy wheels. The original Deore LX rapid fire shifters crapped out so I replaced them with very reliable Sun Race thumb shifters with new gear cables and cable housing. I also added new grips, new presta valve tubes, new Prologo saddle and new Specialized tires. This was a very high quality bike in the 1990's and will make for a great urban on or off road commuter . This bike is clean, lubed and tuned so its ready to ride away. Sold for cash and pick up only. Please mention name, item, location, a phone number for a response all other emails or texts will be considered spam and will be ignored. Thanks
