Ever see those Scott plastic MX boots? My friend had a pair for years. He said they were great once you got used to not being able to feel the pegs and the shifter.
It was the shifter on my YZ490 that ate through the left AXO boot and the pipe melted the top of the right one (the plastic part) until the rough melted edge shredded the seat.

The YZ was hard to shift compared to the Maico and the Husky. Before them I had a Montessa and the shifter was on the right side.

It was notchy but it never broke. The Maico mainshaft came out through the clutch cover, pushing the clutch out first. Lots of laughs over that.

Ah, Maicos. I'd never seen bellville washers used like that before. And the shift mechanism was truly rube goldberg. But it worked really well, you could do reliable clutchless shifts. Which you needed because the clutch was impossible to pull.
I used Garne trials boots for trials. They're really comfortable but my first set started leaking after four or five years. You wind up with your feet in water a lot in trials, so that was a problem.

"Flexible spending accounts are “use-it-or-lose-it” plans. This means that amounts in the account at the end of the plan year cannot be carried over to the next year. However, the plan can provide for a grace period of up to 2½ months after the end of the plan year. If there is a grace period, any qualified medical expenses incurred in that period can be paid from any amounts left in the account at the end of the previous year. Your employer is not permitted to refund any part of the balance to you. See Qualified HSA distribution and Qualified reservist distribution , earlier. "

Evidently OH is banning 4lokos. I can't help but think that things like this are part of the reason (copied facebook status):
Do 2 people really need ~40 Lokos? Now that Ohio is "banning" them, the correct answer is yes, yes we do. I love my roommate.

I bet botto has figured it out.
I was born in Trenton. My grandmother lived off of River Road. My grandfather headed up the Civil Defense radio shack by the airport. I grew up as a young child in Princeton while my father got his Master's degree there. Then moved to Massachusetts, back to NJ, then to MD, then settled in CT.
And that, is the REST of the story.

And I didn't need google to identify Paul Harvey either.

Several long, stressful days with no break, not eating enough, and a sick wife at home. Guess who's feeling under the weather?

My previous employer's plan allowed expenses to be incurred through March 15 of the next year, with the option to apply them to the previous year. Meaning that you could have an expense in Feb 2011, but claim it against your 2010 account balance. Rules may vary depending on the particular employer plan.

Now I have an HSA account which is basically the same thing except it's for people that have their own health insurance (I have a one person policy - me). I contribute money to it myself, meaning I have to pay money into it. It has similar tax advantages.
Since I have no dental or vision coverage and a $1500 deductible, I am using it a lot this year. For HSAs you can deduct what you contribute, up to $3k a year. So if I contribute $3k in 2010, I can deduct that amount on the first page of my tax return. I don't have to spend that money, not all of it. I can spend up to $5950 during the year, i.e. almost 2 years of contributions.
So pretend I've incurred $1200 in dental expenses this year. Purely theoretically, let's say I need $4300 of work in addition to this, in three different procedures. The total is more than $3k and I didn't have any HSA carry over from last year. Therefore I cannot have all the work done this year. I need to split it up between the two years.
However, for 2010 I can contribute $3k to my HSA account and write off that income. I just can't spend more than $5950 this year (if I had a $2950 roll over from last year).
Theoretically I'll do one of the three additional procedures ($1700), contribute the rest of the $3k I haven't contributed yet, and then do the rest of the work next year.
In addition the same kind of things are deductible in an HSA account as an FSA account. Usually, if you buy at a CVS or something, there'll be a separate line item for those qualified items. I have another $500 or so of qualified items to add to my HSA account, so I'll probably go over my $3k contribution amount this year (I can't write off more than $3k).
What's nice about the HSA is that I can contribute to it whenever. So when I incur an expense that's HSA-qualified, I pay the HSA account first, then pay the expense from the HSA account. I don't have to guess at my year's HSA account like I did with the FSA (how much to deduct from each payroll check).

I love "Fletch"
"Awww, come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State."

I'll find out when the FSA stuff ends. Thanks for the info guys.
I have to get vision insurance for next year. Didn't bother with it for this year because I have 2 pairs of working glasses, but maybe it'll be worth it next year. Not that I can afford to get a good pair of glasses now, but...

This might be the cutest thing on the internet. To those with kids, especially little kids, play on!

Bad ass.
+1 to both Greg180 and aggro_jo.
That guy rules. Every week before our skills sessions my coach sends an email to everyone with a link to a video like that saying "this is what we'll be working on this week." And I'm sure we'll get right to it, right after we master picking up a water bottle without falling over.

The missus passed a particularly frustrating-for-her CPA test. She scored 74s for a while (need 75 to pass). This time? 82. Two are done. One expired while she worked on passing the frustrating one. She's already taken that one over, waiting for the result on that. It's her core strength and I think she got an 87? last time.
