Well, he lived to be 100, so he was still retired for 22 years. And since average male life expectancy at 65 is about 18 years, even retiring at 78, he lived longer in retirement than most people!

As for what to do, I've found that time goes by so quickly that what to do isn't a concern. And I like being home.

To be fair, he retired at 74 or 75, but then the company begged him to come back because they needed a problem solver to fix a production line they'd just put in.

I'm functional enough in the morning that I don't have a problem managing grinding, pulling a shot, and frothing milk. What I can not abide is a 30+ minute warm-up time for the machine, so I do have it on a timer.
In terms of the Mrs, she thought that I was pretty silly with all of this nonsense, at first, but now she's completely addicted and has a hard time functioning without the morning latte. I usually take the airplane oxygen mask approach to the morning coffee, though - I help myself before assisting others in need.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I find this unconvincing, except for the simplicity part.

I don't own vintage bikes because they're "better than" modern bikes. I love my modern bikes! I just also love vintage bikes.

Met with our financial advisor this week and my wife is going retire next year at age 60. I'm going to work until ~61.5 or 62 (another ~3.5 years) depending on how things are going. Won't miss it at all. Not *****ng at all. Hopefully I will be able to ride by then.

5am.....that would be glorious. I wake up an hour before my 4am alarm almost every day. Then I doze until it goes off. I don't know why, but if I change the alarm time, my body adapts within a week.

Cluster update:
Brother 1 needs to keep his catheter deployed for another week. I'm sorry to hear that but not as much as him.
Brother 2 is doing fine with covid and will be at day 10 on Monday.
Sister with seizure last week is working this week but not driving. She gets an MRI next week looking for a possible causemore money limit liability
Sister 2 is 2 weeks post covid and doing fine.
I'm still a dumpster fire.
83 year old mother still fine and thinks we're all a bunch of ****ies.
