Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It absolutely IS a hypothetical. You're asking a question to which there is no definitive answer yet, given that people have been getting boosters for less than a year.

The answer is, we don't know. Lots of vaccines benefit from boosters. Generally it strengthens the response, which is why you got two shots originally instead of one. If you look up pediatric vaccine schedules, you'll see that MOST of the vaccines are given in multiple doses. This is why it's so mind-bogglingly stupid for people to say, "If the vaccine works, why do you need boosters?" Because the immune system works even better with them, that's why.

No, he's right, it's hypothetical. We didn't know until a couple months ago how fast Ab titers drop after receiving each vaccine. I don't know if we know whether higher titer correlates with better protection at 6 months, but it's a good bet. But it might not. I mean, for some diseases you're vaccinated or infected in childhood but protected for life, and your Plasma Cells aren't pumping out Abs against those pathogens. You've got memory T- and B-cells, just waiting to see those antigens again, and say, "AH! I know what this is! I know how to fight it!"

The best part of a Manhattan is the cherry, if you're using good cherries.

I guess I've never had one with good cherries, as I've always enjoyed the whiskey part the most

At least you wouldn't have to drive all the way down to Fulton County Stadium like in the old days.

Ran out of Marker Mark Bourbon and had to depend on Jack Daniels Rye. But they're real Luxardo Marasco cherries, not the fake colored supermarket maraschino sort.

I don't accept that it's a "hypothetical" that people get COVID shots every six months when we've had at least two people here who have already done so.
